THE OLYMPIC R66T ACADEMY (MARYLAND, USA)
The Olympic R66T Academy (Maryland, USA) will provide players with expert coaching, based upon the principles of our High Performance Program in Adelaide, alongside training in the state-of-the-art facilities at Olympic Indoor Sports.
The Academy will be based in Columbia, Baltimore, Maryland, with players training two/three times in the week and matches arranged on weekends. The Academy is set to launch in December and we welcome applications from players in and around the Maryland area who wish to join the Academy this season.
It will be open to players aged six to 19, and we will have U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 teams representing the Academy in competitive matches. There will be up to two games played on weekends during the summer season.
OLYMPIC INDOOR SPORTS
Olympic Indoor Sports is a high-performance facility that specialises in cricket, baseball and softball. They help young athletes gain confidence and improve by providing a comprehensive space for rising stars to achieve their athletic aspirations.
The R66T Academy previously worked with Olympic Indoor Sports on the inagural United States Youth Premier League (USYPL) in Washington in July 2023.
EXPERT COACHING AND ELITE TRAINING
Training will focus on developing players’ skills, physicality, tactical understanding and mental strength, with the ultimate goal of improving their all-round ability on the pitch. Moreover, we are also focused on developing players' character and helping them flourish away from the pitch.
All aspects of the game - batting, bowling, fielding and wicket keeping - will be covered in-depth during the program, and players will work on their strength and conditioning in high-quality facilities. Our coach/coaches will also ensure players are actively looking to improve their game awareness and understanding of the game.

Riaz Richards
Olympic R66T Academy (Maryland, USA) Head Coach
Riaz has more than 25 years’ experience as a cricket coach, having worked internationally as the National Coach of Morocco and coaching at one of the best cricket schools in South Africa, Wynberg Boys’ High School. He has also been the Head Coach of the Michael Vaughan Cricket Academy. The Level 3 Coach - who was part of the Kenyan squad that shocked world cricket by reaching the 2003 World Cup semi-finals - has previously coached Joe Root, JP Duminy, Ashwell Prince, Rory Kleinveldt and many other First Class cricketers.
The coach has also worked with international teams such as India, South Africa, Bangladesh and New Zealand as a liaison officer - gaining experience in the international game across all formats. Riaz has been involved in both World Test Championship Finals, numerous World Cups and bilateral series' during his career.

Olympic Indoor Sports - based in Columbia - is a state-of-the-art practice facility with premier training equipment. The training complex boasts eight cricket lanes/cages, two of which incorporate live feed and delayed feed video analysis.
There is also radar speed gun integration with HiTtrax hitting machine sensors for live metrics and dedicated BOLA machine lanes with auto feeder for repetition of shots.
The facility is open from 9am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday. Players in the Olympic R66T Academy (Maryland, USA) will also be able to practise for FREE anytime the lanes are free and available.
