State School Cricket League renamed in R66T Academy Name
Posted on 9th February 2023 at 09:32
The R66T Academy will be named alongside Fred Trueman as the new Fred Trueman & R66T Academy State School League.
Following the successful re-launch of the Fred Trueman State School League in 2022, over 1,350 children took part in the league during that season.
The R66T Academy’s mission is to provide more opportunities for everyone, everywhere to play and enjoy cricket. With the renaming of the league, it is hoped that even more children will be inspired to play cricket in the league competition throughout 2023.
R66T Academy Co-founder, Matt Root said “It is great to be able to help give some focus to cricket in mainstream education. I know this is something that Joe, in particular, feels very passionate about. It also strengthens the R66T Academy’s stance of providing more opportunities for young people to play cricket, whoever they are, whatever their background.”
To celebrate the occasion The Cricket Society Trust are hosting a fundraising dinner on 28th April 2023 at The Union Jack Club, Sandell Street, London, SE1 8UJ. The dinner will include special guests, Geoff Miller OBE, Matt Root and Oliver Wise KC.
All money raised from the dinner will be donated to the running of the league, The R66T Academy Foundation and the Cricket Society Trust.
Tickets for the fundraising dinner are priced at £100pp which includes a sparkling wine reception and 3-course meal with a Q&A with each of the special guests.
